Hanoi Birding
Birding in Hanoi today is highly valued, and the number of participants is growing. Occasionally, we see many people at spots where beautiful birds appear, bringing observation equipment and professional cameras to photograph them. Many people spend hours waiting to take a few pictures of birds. While birdwatching itself is not as popular as bird photography, it has become more common than in previous years.

Some people, both Vietnamese and foreigners, are passionate about finding and documenting different bird species through apps that record previously seen birds at specific locations on maps. Some more experienced birdwatchers can accurately identify species by listening to their calls. Therefore, birdwatching is considered a hobby that contributes to personal birdwatching lists.
Some websites that list bird species with global GPS tracking include eBird (Merlin Bird ID), iNaturalist, BirdLife International, and Avibase.
Besides these websites, you can also download them from the app store or Google Play.
In addition to the factors above, if you want to observe birds in Hanoi in the best way, you also can’t do without a good pair of binoculars with a optical range of 8×42 or 10×42.
